If your really want to have an idea what the Switch 2 will be like than you have to look no further than its predecessor the switch Oled
When rumors of the switch oled first came about everyone was saying that this was the Switch Pro. And technically it was.
When the Switch OlED was first released in 2021 it gave the original switch a whole new look, more storage space, much better performance and a bigger and clearer screen.
We already know that the Switch 2 won’t have much difference in appearance. Instead it will have a performance upgrade, better software and internal hardrive.
Display
When the Switch OLED was released it increased the size of the display screen from 6.2 to 7 inches a nearly 2 inch increase. We know from sources that this trend will continue with the Switch 2 increasing its display size to 8 inches.
Although we aren’t certain what kind of display the Switch 2 will have, we can assume, with the ever popular OLED screen, that the switch 2 will inherit this feature as well. An experiment done by popular YouTuber Bob Wulf tested the durability of the OLED as it was left on for a full year withoufht noticeable damage.
Portability
The switch’s popularity grew due to it being able to be played both in dock and handheld mode. The same can be assumed to be true for the Switch 2. The switch and Switch OLED have both reignited the popularity for gaming handhelds and we see this with release of many handheld consoles such as the Steam Deck and Rog Ally.
Storage
As the gaming industry begins the decline its production of physical copy games their will be greater need for increase storage. When the Switch OLED was released it increased the storage to 64 gigs. 32 more than the original. We can expect the Switch OLED to need at least 200 gigs as it continues to compete with gaming giants X box and PlayStation who release games that require 60 gigs of memory.
Ergonomics
One way that other gaming companies are competing with the Switch handheld is through how ergonomic their consoles feel. The Switch joycons are neither ergonomic or comfortable to play in handheld mode for long periods. Nintendo has partnered with third party companies like Hori to try and fix this problem but the Switch 2 will need to have a solution for this on release.
